Version 0.3.1
October 7, 2026
Fixes
- Editing only a date trigger's settings in your manager repo, such as its days before, time, timezone or product, is no longer dropped.
mimeo diffused to call the flow unchanged andmimeo pushleft the edit out. Changing just an event trigger's historical setting had the same problem. The diff now lists each trigger setting that changed.
Improvements
- For a changed flow on a date trigger,
mimeo diffnow shows who it would enter in the next 14 days and how many are skipped, since there's no event to rehearse.
Version 0.3
October 7, 2026
New features
- Subscription ending approaching. A new flow trigger that starts a flow a set number of calendar days before a subscription is scheduled to end, at a local time you choose. Use it for "your membership ends next week" or "your support and updates end in 14 days". The email can show the subscriber's own end date and renewal price with
automation.subscription.cancels_onandautomation.subscription.renewal_amount. People who resume, switch plans or have their end date moved are dropped before anything sends. See Flows. - Sub-groups in rules. Segments, flow branches and gates, guards, subscription preferences and trigger detail matches can now hold a group inside the list, with its own all of these or any of these. That's how to say "any of these, where one of them is all of those". A group can be negated like any rule, so "doesn't match any of these" means none of them. See Segments.
Improvements
- Rule summaries on flow cards put sub-groups in parentheses, so "A or (B and C)" can't be misread.
- The person page's automation tab lists upcoming and past renewal and ending flows together, each with its date.
- Integration tokens can read a person's email activity through a narrow, read-only endpoint, so a connected app can show what someone has received and opened.
Fixes
- A nested or negated trigger detail match written through the API is now shown as it is, instead of as a blank check that one edit could overwrite.
Version 0.2
September 25, 2026
New features
- Subscription renewal approaching. A flow trigger that starts a flow a set number of calendar days before a subscription renews, at a local time you choose. The email can show that subscriber's own renewal amount and date. A preview lists who will enter and when, and who is skipped and why. See Flows.
- Native subscriptions in Sales. Subscriptions now track their renewal amount, renewal date, scheduled cancellation and cancellation. New conditions cover continuing, cancelling and former subscribers, and Liquid can read a subscription's details.
- Subscription preferences. The hosted unsubscribe page can offer topic toggles, so people can opt out of one kind of email instead of everything. It uses the same color as your unsubscribe page.
- Image sizes in the email editor. Set an image to Small, Medium or Full. Sent emails now give every image a pixel width, so Outlook for Windows no longer draws wide images past the column. Each image shows the width it will appear at in the email and its file size, with a warning above 500 KB.
- Image links and alt text. Images in the email editor get link and alt-text buttons.
Improvements
- Email pre-headers now appear as the inbox preview text instead of the body's first line.
- Images wider than 1120px are scaled down before upload.
- A person's email address can be changed in place, keeping their history.
Fixes
- Corporate mail scanners, including Microsoft Defender, can no longer unsubscribe people by loading and submitting the unsubscribe page. Rejected attempts show on the person's timeline.
- ⌘K inside the email editor no longer opens the search palette over the link field.
Version 0.1
August 25, 2026
Mimeo's initial release. Mimeo is email automation you own: single-tenant software, hosted or on your own server, that runs your whole email operation, with your own sending provider plugged in for delivery. It's built to be run by your coding agent through the API, MCP and a definitions repo, alongside a full web UI.
New features
- People. Search, filter and export your subscribers, read each person's timeline, and handle unsubscribes and GDPR export and erase requests. Bring a list in with CSV import.
- Emails. A markdown editor with Liquid variables and conditionals, snippets, buttons, templates, image hosting through the media library, and previews for real people.
- Flows and sequences. Event-triggered automations with branches, gates, delays and conditions, plus timed email series, each with dry runs, versions and live counts at every step.
- Broadcasts. One-off sends to a segment, with a live recipient count, sent now or scheduled.
- Segments. Rules over everything Mimeo knows about your people, evaluated live, with trend lines, CSV export and watchdogs.
- Guards and the scheduled queue. Send-time checkpoints, send windows, and a queue that shows everything about to send and why anything was held.
- Sending. Bring your own provider, connect sending domains with one CNAME record, and define your senders.
- Reporting. Per-email, sequence, flow and broadcast stats, filterable by date.
- Agent-first. A full API, an MCP server and a definitions repo, so your coding agent can run everything the UI can.
